For Lacas Maassen the restrictions of child labour laws have become an essential guideline to intuitive, naive and innovative creation, in his new project "Furniture Factory".
For this project Maasen hired and pays his three sons as creative collaborators, but they are only permitted to work a maximum of three hours per week in accordance with child labour laws. Maassen now uses this time limit as a tool to determine when a new piece is complete.
